Challenge

The challenge was to simplify the tax filing process for Spanish taxpayers. Despite most using the government's platform to get their draft and submit online, the process is often confusing and cumbersome. Many lack information on deductions, as it's scattered across various sources and hard to understand, and as a result, most people don't know they could optimize their taxes. On the other hand, hiring tax advisors can be costly and inconvenient. So we aimed to offer a straightforward and hassle-free alternative.

Role

As the Lead Designer, my role was to manage the entire design process, from discovery to execution. This included identifying the problem to solve and crafting the right value proposition, defining the scope of the initial MVP, contributing to roadmap planning, overseeing product delivery, and continuously iterating on it post-launch.

Solution

In less than 5 months, we delivered a fully functional cross platform product, with tax logic and a full team of customer support and ops, as well as a national TV campaign. We landed on a service that's both simple and intuitive, accessible on both mobile and web platforms, making tax filing easy and convenient from anywhere you are. We crafted an experience closely with our tax experts team to identify all the information needed to prepare the tax return and translated technical language into an easy to answer questionnaire, with full support from experts to answer any question.
